Things to Know Before Renting a Jet Ski from CJ's Jetski and Watersports Rentals

Age Requirement

In Florida, you must be at least 18 years old to rent a jet ski. If you’re planning to rent from us, make sure you meet this minimum age requirement. Those 16 and older may operate a jet ski with a parent or guardian present.

Boater’s License

If you were born after January 1, 2006, Florida law requires you to have a boater’s license. Those without one can obtain a temporary boater’s license online.

Valid ID

A valid driver’s license or government-issued ID is required to rent a jet ski. Don’t forget to bring it with you.

Preparation and Safety

Appropriate Clothing

Expect to get wet while riding a jet ski. Wear a swimsuit, rash guard, or quick-drying clothes. Also, bring a towel and a change of clothes for after your ride.

Safety Briefing

Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment for a mandatory safety briefing. This briefing will cover how to operate the jet ski, emergency procedures, and Florida’s rules and regulations for jet ski operation. Pay close attention and ask any questions you might have.

Rules and Regulations

Follow the Rules

Florida has specific rules for operating jet skis, including maintaining a safe distance from other boats, adhering to speed limits, and not operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Follow these rules to ensure a safe and trouble-free experience.
